Tim McCarthy

Senior Associate

Tim leads one of Place Studio’s internal design studios, guiding teams responsible for delivering a broad range of residential projects across New South Wales. His work spans developments from boutique residential buildings through to large-scale multi-residential projects exceeding 500 apartments.

A graduate of RMIT University, Tim has built extensive experience across the residential sector, including affordable housing, seniors living and childcare projects. This diverse portfolio has shaped a strong understanding of how housing design must respond to planning controls, community needs and development feasibility.

Before joining Place Studio, Tim held a project leadership role at COX Architecture, contributing to major public projects including the Geelong City Council Building and Newcastle Airport’s international terminal expansion.
