Long-term thinking has been central to how James has shaped Place Studio since its founding. As Chief Executive Officer, he guides the direction of the practice while ensuring its work continues to reflect the principles on which it was established.

James has been closely involved in the delivery of complex multi-residential, mixed-use and civic projects across Australia. This experience developed a strong understanding of how architectural ideas are shaped by planning frameworks, development feasibility and construction realities.

Today, his focus sits at the intersection of design leadership and practice growth, supporting the studio’s teams while positioning Place Studio to deliver projects that combine architectural clarity with long-term value.
