Few architects bring the level of specialised automotive experience that Alan contributes to Place Studio. As Associate Director, he leads the studio’s Automotive sector, drawing on decades of architectural practice across dealership networks, service facilities and commercial developments.

After operating his own architectural practice for over twenty years and later serving as Principal at Stanton Dahl, Alan spent a decade working closely with a major international automotive brand. During this time he played a key role in designing dealership environments and developing a new corporate identity framework that was implemented across their Australian network.

His extensive experience within design-and-construct delivery environments has shaped a pragmatic architectural approach, ensuring projects balance strong design outcomes with operational functionality and construction practicality.
