Place Studio

Place Studio, in collaboration with Aura at Home, has developed a standardised 2 bedroom group home design to support residents with high physical support needs under the NDIS. Originally delivered at 15 Martin Street, Roselands, the design has been replicated for a second site in Blacktown, demonstrating a scalable and efficient model for SDA housing delivery. The single storey dwelling is carefully planned to meet High Physical Support requirements, incorporating generous circulation spaces, accessible bathrooms and fully compliant doorways to ensure seamless movement throughout the home .
The layout prioritises independence, dignity and ease of care, with each bedroom supported by accessible ensuites and direct connection to shared living spaces. The design integrates specialist accessibility provisions including reinforced walls, assistive technology readiness and step free access to outdoor areas. Architecturally, the home maintains a familiar residential character, enabling repeatable delivery while creating a comfortable, supportive environment tailored to residents’ needs.
